There are 99 counties in Iowa. Each of these counties represents microcosm of government. Elected officials in each of these counties operate within the accepted norms and traditions that exist there, sometimes in great contrast to even the counties that immediately border on them.
Iowa Carry needs people at the local level to keep in touch with what's happening, and to act as a liason between our members, our leadership, and the local community. A single point of contact for each county that can keep a finger on the pulse of what's happening inside the borders of his or her county.
Immediately of concern is the issuing policy of each Sheriff in Iowa. We know what they "say" they will do, but we need to know for sure what they actually do. Our County Coordinators need to take the front line task of finding out how the Sheriffs are handling permit applications and issuance currently.
County Coordinators also act as a focal point for local fellowship. Informal gatherings help to spread the word about Iowa Carry, garner support, and overall help the growth of the organization.
If you believe that you are someone who would like to take on the role of a County Coordinator, we encourage you to contact our Vice-President - County Operations, Tom Clark. He is always looking for new people who want to help Iowa Carry at it's most important grass-roots level.
We currently have County Coordinators for the following counties:
