The Board of Directors of Iowa Carry is the "strategic" leadership of the group.  Board members are tasked with providing the overall direction that Iowa Carry is to follow, then passing off the execution of those goals to the Executive Committee.  Board meetings are presided by the President of Iowa Carry, but the President does not have a vote in any matter brought to the Board unless to break a tie vote.  There is also a Secretary and a Treasurer position on the Board of Directors.

There are two classes of Board Members for Iowa Carry:  Permanent and Elected.

The Permanent members were put in position at the time of organization, and remain in office until they step down or are removed by the process spelled out in the Iowa Carry By-Laws.  Permanent members of the board may be added at any time, also by a process spelled out in the Iowa Carry By-Laws.

Elected members of the board hold their positions for two years, and the number of elected members will vary depending on the number of supporting members of Iowa Carry.  Elected members have all of the same privileges as permanent members.  Initially, there will be two elected members.  When the number of supporting members reaches 200, a third elected member will be added.  When the number of supporting members reaches 300, a fourth elected member will be added.  And so on.  The first elected Board of Directors joined the team in July, 2009.  More will be added as we continue to grow.
